2020: a year in pictures… Back in 2012 I undertook a 366 project – taking a picture every day for a year – and 2020 felt like a point in time to once again try to record the passing of a what may be a pivotal year in the future of our country and of the planet.

And, of course, what I don’t know when I set out on this project was that the year would be dominated by the Coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic.

So this is my record of 2020…

366-2020

About 366:

It isn’t an easy undertaking, there are times when you don’t have a great deal of time, opportunity, or have bad light, or bad weather to contend with.

Because of this, I’m not sure the images always reflected my best photography, but they do undoubtedly produced an interesting record of a year passing.

About 2012

2012 was the year of the London Olympics and feels like a world ago now. Personally, I am in a different place, but also the country – united then by the Games – now feels much different and more divided.

The 2020s, the start of a new decade, begin with a nation wrestling with the uncertainties of Brexit and the global certainties of a climate emergency.

This feels like a point in time to once again try to record the passing of a what may be a pivotal year in the future of our country and of the planet.

Footnote: Coronaovirus, Covid-19, has also greatly impacted on this project. Unlike my previous 366 project I decided not to share an image each day, but to collect the images and to create an album at the end of the year.
